Dear Anet,

I think that while there is a few positive aspects, becoming clear in my mind in modding Guildwars. I'm afraid that this will open doors to exploits which most people will have no freekin idea are happening, unless they're in the know about it. Do you, as a company, want your community to make you work harder on the current title by coming up with every single way to stop those negative aspects from possibly occuring in your game, or do you want to put an end to it before it goes too far. Already there are some game mechanics being modified so that the user has a better visual advantage than the next guy who likes playing with what you, the developers, created for us in the first place. While some of the features are not implemented by you, the devs, yet (or may never be, because the game is supposed to work a certain way). Your way. Are you gonna let those few that know about this new "initiative" rule the game, because they go out of their way to make sure they get a little more out of GW than others, using 3rd party programs?

BAN THEM ALL! DO IT. no big loss YET.

@SlyClone
At this point there has been no tangible pvp advantage attained that could not be achieved with a dry erase marker written on your monitor, which last i checked wasn't a banable offense either. Due to the limited scope of the available tool its highly improbable that any changes to game mechanics are possible due to the fact this games exe and netcode are not being modified, just Dx9 calls being intercepted. At this time there is little threat unless a more complex modding toolkit became available.

@everyone else
As requested, all popular UI components split into separate files so you can just use the ones you choose

Texmod has been around for over a year(to my knowledge....theres a chance its been around longer). What is detected is known as false positives, most likely because they program is made to interact with other processes.

True, a friend of mine got a positive for a trojan with his AVG but I didn't. It's just how the program slightly alters the game client when it runs it.

It's clean. Anyway, anyone know how to open DDS files with Fireworks?

Ok, after reading the whole thread i cant seem to get a tutorial on some mods (if there is one).
I really want to know how to mod my rader with spirit range and the 50% / 80% line on the health bar. If you could tell us how to implent it, that would be great for the noobs around here right?

Ailia - Could I see the image file you used for the HP bar? I'd like to do a similar (but not identical) effect with my mod.

Chop it Off - Thanks, Fireworks can use Photoshop plugins iirc.

I was wondering if you could remove the Divine Aura with these tools, I mean would there now be a way to make it transparent? (=invisible, eg. not there and not ruining my screenshots anymore)

Rare skins only mattered if other people could see them. They can't see your pimped gear.

I think it should just be used for changing Interface skin and all.Changing armor and weapon skin is going a bit to far I think,there gonna be no point anymore to have a 15k armor or even FoW...

Stop worrying about the economy, it wont affect it as you're the only one who sees it.

From what I read, he was not banned from modding his DAT file, Anet apparently thought he had been running a third party program. I do not know how or why the incident came to be...Others have been banned over last couple of days, probably just a fluke. Seriously, modifing the DAT file should have no noticable effect on Anets side.

Maybe they thought he was a bot because of the log-in flood

You can mod the health bar in exactly the same way, just use the texture with the checksum 0xDD995623 instead - it'll add the lines to your energy bar at the same time. Here's something I did quickly, only bothered to put the 50% mark on:

The only problem I've found with Quartz is the 80% marker seems to be a tiny bit high, its around 83% atm.
